Instagram is Testing a Clone of the BeReal App
Instagram seems to be imitating a brand-new rival called BeReal, a well-known photo app that encourages users to take and post an image once per day at the same time as their friends.
Developer Alessandro Paluzzi shared a screenshot on Twitter of a feature that Instagram appears to be testing that is exactly like BeReal.
In the image, Instagram asks users to “Join IG Candid Challenges” and “every day at a different time, get a notification to capture and share a photo in 2 minutes.” That’s the basic premise of BeReal.
